Clearing the confusion of Santa for Kinder Kids
I have spent the last 2 weeks getting ready for a very tuk tuk Christmas. I won’t spoil all the details yet but let’s say that Santa really has his work cut out this Christmas day in Pursat. The first dilema that we had was a lot of the kids in the pre-schools that we support know nothing about Christmas so I spent this week on a little educational pilgrimage.
Wanting to be accurate in my teachings, I downloaded 2 short movies that thoroughly cover everything that young kids need to know about Christmas. The first one was “Rudolph the red nose reindeer” and the second was Disney’s “The night before Christmas”. Now the kids know that some animal with a nose like a headlight will fly into their village at night pulling a big red tuk tuk with no wheels. A fat white guy (Obviously rich because only rich people can afford to be fat) will come at night while they are sleeping and leave them presents (more proof that he is rich). Some crazy weather patterns will cause the clouds to fall to the ground so that he can land (snow). And toys will march out of Santa’s sack, put up a Christmas tree and decorate it and then go to sleep in their packaging when the kids get up because they only move when you’re not around to see them.
PERFECT…. No confusion for anyone.
Ohh and to reinforce what they might see on Friday we had some fun coloring in. Here are some of the kids drawings.
